How Can We Help?Contact

Privacy

How we handle your information.

What we collect when you use this website, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

This website, dataproducts.io, is operated by Data Products LLC, 200 E Randolph Street, Suite 5100, Chicago, IL 60601, United States ("Data Products", "we", "us").

Privacy questions and requests go through our contact page: choose “Something else” and tell us it is a privacy request.

2. What we collect

We collect information in three ways.

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Your name, work email, company, role, the topic and stage you select, your message, and, for staffing requests, the role, technology stack, start date, duration and time zone you enter.
  • Assessment reports. If you ask for an assessment report by email, we receive your email address and your dimension scores so we can send it. Your individual answers are scored in your browser and are not transmitted to us.
  • Newsletter and event sign-ups, where you choose to give us your details.
  • Private Executive Bites requests. Your name, work email, company and title. For an invitation, also the table you are interested in, your city or region, industry and function, the question you would bring, and, if you give them, your LinkedIn profile and the name of the person who suggested the dinners to you. For a table suggestion or a sponsorship enquiry, what you tell us.
  • Partner referrals. If you sell for one of our technology partners and refer an account to us, your name, work email and company, and if you give them, your last name and role; which partner you sell for; and the customer account, situation and timing you tell us about.
  • Job and bench applications. What you enter in the careers form and your resume. See section 11.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device information such as pages viewed, the page that referred you, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, collected through the analytics and marketing tools described in our Cookie Policy.
  • Campaign context. When you arrive from a link, the forms on this site record the page and link you came from and its UTM tags (source, medium, campaign).

Information used for security

To keep spam and abuse out of our forms, submissions are checked by an anti-spam service, which processes your IP address, email address and the content of the submission.

3. How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, arrange a call and provide the services you ask about.
  • To send assessment reports, newsletters or invitations you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To measure which content and campaigns lead to conversations.
  • To protect the site and our forms from spam, fraud and abuse.
  • Arranging Private Executive Bites dinners, and replying to table suggestions and sponsorship enquiries.
  • Working a partner referral with the partner seller who sent it.
  • Reviewing job and bench applications, and proposing people for client engagements (section 11).
  • To meet legal obligations.

Nothing you send through a form on this site is added to a mailing list, newsletter or automated campaign. A person replies to you directly. You receive a newsletter only if you sign up for one.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the answers you give in our free assessments to profile you; they never leave your browser.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and our business, under contracts that limit their use of it:

  • Website hosting and our content management system, where form submissions are stored.
  • Email delivery services that send our replies, reports and notifications.
  • Customer relationship management and marketing tools (HubSpot).
  • Analytics and advertising measurement tools (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Meta, Hotjar).
  • Anti-spam protection (CleanTalk).
  • Microsoft 365, where job applications and resumes are kept (section 11).
  • An AI service that drafts a profile from a resume (section 11).
  • Clients, when we propose a member of our bench for an engagement with them (section 11).

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and contact information for as long as we have a business relationship or a legitimate reason to follow up, and then delete or anonymise it. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of each tool. We keep information longer only where the law requires it.

  • Job applications: up to two years from the date you apply. If you join our bench, for as long as you are on it, with a yearly check that your profile is current (section 11).

6. Your choices and rights

  • Cookies. You can decline non-essential cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, and block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • Marketing email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Access, correction and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of certain uses, including "sharing" for targeted advertising. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law requires, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you applied through our careers page, you can also reply to the confirmation email we sent you.

7. International visitors

We are based in the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law of your country requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers. Job applications are kept in the United States. If you apply from outside the United States, your application is transferred there.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections to this website and restricted access to stored submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

This website is intended for business users. It is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.

11. Job applicants and the talent network

This section applies when you apply through our careers page, for contract work on our bench or for a full-time role. It adds to the sections above. Where they differ for an application, this section applies.

What we collect

  • What you enter in the form: whether you are interested in contract work, a full-time role or either; your name, email, country, city and time zone, and LinkedIn profile; the practice closest to your work, your years of experience and your English for client work; how and when you could work with us; whether you have worked on a Data Products engagement before; and any note you add.
  • Your resume.
  • The role you applied for, if any, the date of your application, and the page and link that brought you to the form.
  • Notes from our conversations with you, including the technical conversation, and our assessment of your application.

Why we use it

To assess your application, to match you to client engagements or open roles, and to stay in touch about your availability. We do not use it for marketing, and applying does not add you to a mailing list.

How we use AI

An AI model reads your resume and drafts a profile: your skills, tools, industries, certifications and years of experience, and the practice your work fits best. A person checks that draft against your resume and makes every decision about your application.

  • The AI does not reject, rank or score applicants.
  • It is told never to record your age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, disability or family status, or to guess at the reasons for gaps in your work history.
  • If you tick the box on the form asking for a person to read your resume without AI, no AI is used on it, and your application is treated no differently.
  • The AI service processes your resume only to produce the draft and may not use it to train its models.

Who sees it

  • The people at Data Products who review applications.
  • A client, when we propose you for an engagement with that client. We may share your profile for that purpose. We do not sell it.
  • Our service providers, acting on our instructions: Microsoft, which hosts the Microsoft 365 environment where applications are kept, and the AI service described above.

Where it is kept

Applications pass through this website without being stored on it. They are kept in our Microsoft 365 environment in the United States. If you apply from outside the United States, your application is transferred there.

How long we keep it

  • Up to two years from the date you apply, then deleted.
  • If you join our bench, for as long as you are on it. Once a year we ask you to confirm your profile is current.
  • Deleted records can remain in backup or recycle storage for up to 93 days before they are gone.
  • To limit abuse, the website counts applications from each network address for one hour. It keeps a one-way code, not the address itself.

Your choices

Reply to the confirmation email you received, or use our contact page. You can see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we confirm when it is done. Asking us to delete your application withdraws it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law (section 6).
